Patricia Knight, Founder and Patient Advocate
Pacific Coast Health Advocacy LLC founder Patricia Knight is a lawyer and a former registered nurse. Her knowledge of both the medical and the legal world gives Patricia the perfect combination of skills and insight to be a patient advocate. She understands the confusion and frustration many feel when they face today’s healthcare maze, and she knows how to safely guide her clients through it.
During her years as a civil litigation attorney, Patricia handled lawsuits for medical and hospital malpractice, medical device defects, personal injury, and insurance coverage. Before taking her law degree, she was a licensed registered nurse, working for more than 10 years in adult acute care, ICUs, and burn units, and ultimately becoming a USF School of Nursing faculty member. In her subsequent legal career Patricia retained her close relationship with the healthcare, medical, and scientific communities.
A teacher, counselor, and negotiator, Patricia has focused throughout her career on empowering patients through education, informed decision making, ethics, and patients’ rights. Through Pacific Coast Health Advocacy, she puts those values to work for clients.
Patricia is a trained Patient Advocate. She is particularly passionate about end of life care and planning.
